Sister C. Romeril

When I was in practicum, I had to work a Sunday evening shift, and I was driving home at like 11 at night and I felt so alone, so hopeless, I was really sick at this time as I was praying for relief and I wasn’t seeing it. It felt like there were no answers to my prayers. I was listening to my Sunday playlist in the car and the song Rescue came on by Lauren Daigle and the song starts “you are not hidden, there’s never been a moment, you were forgotten, you are not hopeless” and the spirit hit me so strong, I just started crying and I knew it was an answer to my prayers, I knew Jesus understood how I was feeling and that I was not alone.

It was not necessarily how I hoped my prayers would be answered but it was still an answer because God was telling me that he knew me and my circumstances and that he hadn’t forgotten about me, but loved me.

One of my favorite quotes is from Elder Uchtdorf and it says “Though you may feel that no one can understand the depth of your despair, our Savior, Jesus Christ understands.” I love this quote, I think it is really easy to feel alone at times, Satan is good at making us think that, but it is absolutely not true. No one else can truly understand what you’re going through other than Jesus, because he went through the exact same thing for you, so that he could comfort you and strengthen you. And He is who we can draw peace and strength from amongst trials if we choose to come to Him and follow Him.
